Why Shado exists
Ownership of valuable items has always been fragile.
Paperwork fades, receipts can be forged, and stories are easily lost. What should endure across generations too often disappears in a moment.
Shado exists to change that — making ownership provable, permanent, and protected, for life and beyond.

What we believe
Every item should carry evidence of origin.
The scale of the problem
Counterfeits siphon about USD 467B — roughly 2.3% of world trade.
Luxury theft is systemic: watch thefts approach ~100,000 cases a year, with losses already in the billions.
Meanwhile, organized demand for high-end handbags is surging, with resale prices often doubling boutique retail—a prime target for thieves and counterfeiters.
If fakes scale this large and theft pays this well, how long can trust survive without proof?
Responsibility & Trust
These are the realities Shado was built to confront. With risks this large, responsibility cannot be optional. Trust has to be proven. We’re committed to:
Protecting customer privacy
Only ownership, never personal detail, is shared
Respecting brand heritage
Technology stays invisible, luxury remains the focus
Supporting recovery
Ensuring stolen or fraudulent goods can be flagged, tracked, and stopped

Our origin story
Shado began as a solution to a practical problem: recovering stolen luxury goods. But theft was only the surface. Counterfeiting and fraud showed us that trust itself was at risk — paperwork could be forged, and authenticity alone was no longer enough.
That was the turning point. Luxury is not just about protection; it is about sentiment. A watch, a handbag, an heirloom carries more than financial value — it carries personal history and emotional meaning.
Shouldn’t something of such value be protected — not just for its price, but for its story? To preserve both trust and meaning, we built the digital certificate and registry. It proves authenticity and ownership, while also safeguarding the legacy each item carries.
Today, Shado is an invisible layer of technology that protects luxury from theft and fraud while honouring the sentimental value that makes these items matter.
Tomorrow, our ambition is to make every high-value item provable, secure, and preserved for generations.
